>>>> Ok, I'm glad you got back to me so fast. I just finished scanning
in these pics before I read our e-mail. I
will provide these photos and some info however it is limited as I
had no idea at the time how rare and
shortlived this car would be. (I was also a little young to have thought
to keep it.) The car is a 1974 Buick Apollo with a 350
engine, 2 bbl carb. original paint was gold and was later painted a
chocolate brown with a paintbrush. (I believe my step father was trying
to save some cash at the time) It hurt me greatly to see
this in person! You might guess that my parents were the first to bring
this beauty into the family. I fell in love the first time I saw
it. At the time I was 13 years old and living in Ancaster, Ontario
Canada 1982. From there the car moved to Hamilton, Ontario
with us and then on to Picton, Oontario. (1985)
I used to push the car out on to the road at 2 AM just so I could take
it for a drive (my parents fast asleep
of course). This was before I was licenced. you can tell I loved the
car!
I was later to purchase the Apollo from my parents for $150 Canadian
and then started my limited budget restoration. (1986).
After scraping the paint, touching up the body, and other mechanical
repairs i got her painted. (cinnamon firemist).
2 more years on the road with me showing off at high school and getting
many excessive noise tickets for squeeling my tires. It
was time to retire the beast. The under body was too rusted and the
unibody
separating. She went to a wrecking yard I a small town called Milford,
Ontario. Just thinking about some of the memories
makes me want another Apollo for a restoration project. I am now 29
years old and have the patience and appreciation for
such a beauty.
Any comments or info please feel free to email me (let me know)
